The End of Democracy: An Apology

The Unlesson Manifesto believes that the creeping privatisation of the comprehensive education system is dangerous. The United States is sending out out a clear message to the UK regarding this issue. Are we listening? For one to invest an interest, backed by privatised financial means, in our children's education leads to an expected return. This return is what will govern our students achievements and in what subjects.
Does this sound extreme? Just a few weeks ago in my school a discussion took place regarding the student data 'flight paths' of a particular year group. Because the the data inputed by teachers in the termly report did not correlate with the flight paths it was discussed at senior management level whether or not to amend the teacher inputed data to fit the projected paths. It did not happen on this occasion but if there was a corporate interest and threat of removal of financial investment unless the real, on the ground data was made to fit the projections would the decision have been the same? The very fact the discussion took place in the first instance is worrying enough.
